Joanna is a passionate educator and founder of A Fuller Education. Since her first year in the classroom, she’s been on a journey of reimagining education and discovering how children learn best. She began as a middle school math teacher in inner-city Los Angeles and later in a school for an orphanage in El Salvador. For the past ten years, she’s been coaching K-12 teachers and administrators to help them find ways to authentically attend to their students’ thinking and transform their classrooms into joyful learning communities.
Joanna holds a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education with a concentration in mathematics from Biola University and a Master of Education in organizational leadership from Teachers College at Columbia University. She currently lives just outside of Philadelphia with her husband and their two sons.

I was on the hunt for a tutor or program that could help expand my little one’s learning skills because I could see her potential, but I wasn’t sure how to nurture it fully at home. That’s when I came across A Fuller Education (at 4 am), and I can honestly say it has been a godsend for me and my family.
The personalized attention my child receives has been incredible. Unlike traditional classrooms, the micro-school model allows for tailored teaching, small class sizes, and a hands-on approach to learning. Her being more confident, curious , and now her ability to grasp new concepts is out the roof.
Currently potty training my toddler (#2) because I’m excited to have him join in as well!
I would totally recommend A Fuller Education to any parent looking for a more tailored, nurturing, and effective learning environment for their child. It’s been such a blessing to our family!
