Our school focuses on creative writing across core subjects. While we cover all subjects, including math, we infuse creativity and fun, incorporating game-based challenges into our lessons. Students will also have time for extracurricular activities like arts and crafts, sometimes integrating art into their writing projects. Every semester, we will produce a class anthology showcasing our students’ written work, and we will host family events where students can present their creations.
At Magic of Writing Microschool, students benefit from two experienced instructors. Husband and wife team Jeremy (Mr. Garner) and Krystal (Professor K) both have backgrounds in education. Krystal has taught high school and served as an adjunct professor at Southeastern University, while Mr. Garner has years of experience as a paraprofessional in district schools in Minnesota and Florida, as well as working with Reading Corps. Together, they have also homeschooled their middle school-aged daughter for several years, giving them a deep understanding of the need for a creative, student-centered program that makes learning engaging and meaningful.
